Raw Feeding At It's Finest....

If you have any doubts about what wolves/coyotes eat in the wild, take a look at this thread on a forum I belong to, warning the pictures are very graphic:

http://dogfoodchat.com/forum/pictures/2200-raw-feeding-its-finest-caution-graphic-photos.html

My dad who is a Veterinarian said that he always believed and was taught that coyotes/wolves etc go for the stomach/intestines first then go back for the meat/organs/bones, these pictures prove that they do not :-)  A lot of food companies use this 'philosophy' that wolves eat the stomach/grains/grass in the intestines etc first, but they really do not in the wild.  Makes me all the more glad I chose to feed my dogs as the true carnivores they are :-)

This is good stuff mom!

Georgie, asks what's this?  Smelling a pork piece

You can see the redness on the left side of her face (right side of picture), and the eye drainage on her face.  Hoping it starts to improve soon.

Enjoys her yummy dinner

Work those teeth!

Zoey is going through detox. I know this is what she needs, but I hate seeing her so itchy/and miserable. We are being patient and know that everything will work out for her good & benefit in the long run. I have posted a picture of her 'redness' on her head, she is also more licky/itchy on her front legs.

Georgie is so fun to watch, he really works the pieces of meat.

Working those teeth!

I LOVE this picture of Zoey!

Zoey's redness, and her left eye is running (staining) more than usual, she's never really had a problem with eye drainage/staining.

Still Going Strong

Well it has been2 & 1/2 weeks since starting raw food for my dogs, and they are doing great on it.  I am really happy with the results so far, Zoey I think is starting to detox all of the buildup from eating kibble for so long.  She is looking a little more red and her eyes are running more.  I know this is what her body needs.  She has a lot more energy and looks a lot more 'vibrant' if that makes sense.

I know it's not a raw picture, but Baby is just too cute not to share...she's about 5 months old

Tackling

Today is the 3rd day with a little bit of pork in addition to their chicken/cornish hens, and BOTH of them absolutely love it, and neither one are having any problems with it.  YEAH!  I am just so happy with how well they are doing wiht Raw Feeding.  Zoey really amazes me how she tackles the food

Raw Benefits

I was talking to my vet/dad today (who seriously is considering switching his dogs to raw) and was telling him some of the benefits I've noticed in my 2 little dogs since switching to raw. Keep in mind we are just 2 weeks into feeding raw and are still on chicken/cornish hens only.

Zoey:
Less Itchy
Less Licky Louing herself (she used to lick her front legs obsessively
Glands under her neck/throat aren't as swollen, they are constantly swollen/enlarged due to her chronic health issues, noticed last night they are going down
Urine is not smelly at all! (She's pad trained and in our kitchen and some days her pee can clear a room).
Not shaking all the time anymore.
More energy

Georgie
Not as anxious, more relaxed, even behavior
Less eye crustiness & drainage
Smaller Less Smelly Poops

I am starting Shellie on raw today, and hoping to see behavior benefits (spastic/ocd/adhd) for her, as well as going to contact a homeopath to help with vaccinosis.

Decisions, Decisions...

Zoey takes her time to decide exactly how she is going to 'attack' her meals.  It's really fun to watch her decide how exactly to tackle them.  Georgie just grabs his meals and eats with gusto, which is quite the change from what he was doing when he was eating kibble.
